The profession of Chartered Accountancy today stands at a transformative phase. Regulatory frameworks are becoming more dynamic, compliance expectations are expanding, and technology is reshaping the way we practice. Artificial Intelligence, automation, data analytics and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) reporting are no longer distant concepts — they are influencing our present and defining our future. In such times, what distinguishes us is not merely the speed of adaptation, but the maturity of response and the clarity of our professional judgment.

As the Bhagavad Gita reminds us, “Samatvam Yoga Uchyate” — balance is excellence. This guiding principle will shape the functioning of the Goa Branch during the year ahead. Our focus will remain on steady progress, structured knowledge enhancement and collective growth.

I am fortunate to be supported by a committed team comprising CA Vaibhav Devendra Bale, Vice Chairman; CA Akshay Mohanlal Mulgaonkar, Secretary; CA Sneha Menon, Treasurer; CA Venkatesh Shenai, WICASA Chairman; and CA Vishwanath Sudesh Shenavi Bhobe, Immediate Past Chairman. Together, we are united in our vision to strengthen the Branch through responsible leadership and cohesive teamwork.

For our members, the Branch will prioritise relevant and practical technical programmes aligned with the economic realities of Goa. Sessions on direct tax litigation, GST scrutiny and compliance, real estate taxation, NRI taxation, valuation, forensic audits and emerging advisory areas will form an important part of our calendar. We will also encourage discussions on ESG and sustainability reporting, enabling members to prepare for new professional avenues. Alongside knowledge enhancement, we recognise the importance of professional bonding through interactive member meets and thoughtfully structured refresher programmes that promote collaboration and mutual support within the fraternity.

For our students, our approach will extend beyond examinations. Through WICASA initiatives, we aim to provide exposure to practical learning — mock audit simulations, drafting workshops, case-based discussions and leadership interactions. The journey to becoming a Chartered Accountant demands discipline, resilience and composure. Our responsibility is not only to help students clear examinations, but also to build confidence, professional maturity and clarity of thought. Balanced preparation today builds capable professionals tomorrow.

Goa is known across the country for its natural beauty and hospitality. As a professional institution, we have the opportunity to expand that identity by positioning our Branch as a platform for meaningful knowledge exchange and professional excellence. We aspire to host impactful technical programmes and, where feasible, larger forums that bring diverse perspectives and national exposure to our state. Relevance, consistency and credibility will define our efforts.

The strength of the Goa Branch lies in collective leadership. With the guidance of our seniors, the enthusiasm of our students and the commitment of our managing committee, we will move forward with steadiness and purpose. If at the end of this year our members feel professionally stronger and our students feel more confident and prepared, we would have fulfilled our responsibility with sincerity.
